Chica Chica is a brand new trio from the Netherlands spearheaded by bassplayer Judith Renkema, featuring Gino Bombrini on drums/percussion and Jeroen Kant on guitar. Fueled by the desire to travel in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, and inspired by psychedelic cumbia records, film scores and disco grooves: Chica Chica was born. Their music is best described as an exotic soundtrack to a 70’s heist movie, and these tunes will make you want to ride off into the sunset. After releasing the singles ‘Chica Chica’ and ‘Disco L’Africain’, they played their very first live show at Footprints Festival in Utrecht this summer and left the audience wanting more. The release of this outfit’s debut album is set for 2023.
